I’m sorry if I appear to be working myself into a fuss over this, but it is an issue which is extremely important to me. I believe that the difference you are attempting to enlighten us of is that you do not canonize individuals as saints. Catholics also believe that our relationship with God is personal. It is my understanding that this belief is central to Christianity in general, as well as other religions.
