J ChanMemberI’ve seen two Asian men/black women couples. One was a college-age couple I saw in Westwood, California. He dressed hip-hop, and she clearly adored him, a big smile on her face. The other was a couple with a baby I saw in a LA’s Chinatown; she was sassing him for walking ahead and ignoring her and their son — not as happy a scene but a couple nonetheless. I’m half Asian — my dad’s Chinese — and I find black women attractive (though I like the way all women look). But one inhibiting factor is intimidation, and I think this applies to all non-black men. Why would a black woman want to date a skinny-ass Asian boy, or a white boy with no rhythm, when she could date a strong black man (and yes, I acknowledge that’s a stereotype)? Most Asian guys probably don’t even think black women are a possibility. I believe this notion is fading, but if black women gave more of an impression of being open to Asian guys I know you’d see more of this combo.
