East indians likely seem ‘arrogant’ because many of them were born and raised in a classist British system. As a person born and raised in a commonwealth country, I am also often accused of thinking I’m better than others, here in America. I simply think this has something to do with the ‘understated’ and ‘reserved’ demeanor of those who recieve British schooling and Americans perception of the British as ‘snobby’.
