G21747ParticipantAs far as the Serbs are concerned, it is more of a question of fear than it is of hate. Kosovo was occupied by the Muslims for 600 years until World War I and suffered great atrocities at the hands of the Albanians but regained control of Kosovo after WWI. During World War II the Albanians regained control and many Serbs fled. Of those who remained, 10,000 innocent civilians were slaughtered. In croatia, the government sided with the nazis, took over bosnia, established death camps (jasenovac was one) and proceeded to exterminate 700,000 serbs, jews and gypsies. The Bosnian muslims also sided with the nazis and committed atrocities and terror against the serbs. Before yugoslavia splintered apart in the 1990’s the serbs in croatia and bosnia were being terrorized, beaten and even killed. All of thee serbs had relatives that suffered the genocides of WW2 and saw a repeat of that coming on and were determined not to let that happen again so they took up arms and fought. As for why everyone hates the serbs, there is no valid reason, you have to ask them. As far as the torture and murder of old people and children are concerned, that was indeed a terrible thing and war criminals should be brought to justice, however, all sides committed those atrocities and not just the serbs. Also these types of atrocities happen in every war from the beginning of time to the present day and is not a uniquely balkan phenomena like the media would have you believe. I find it racist, abhorrent and insulting that you indict the entire serbian peoples for the war crimes of a few. I also find it extremely hypocritical as well. I see you are from Spain. Spanish history is much bloodier than Serbian history. What the spanish conquistadors did to the native american populations of central and south america pales in comparison to what the serbs did in the 1990’s. The wholesale slaughter, subjugation and eventual cultural genocide of the peaceful native peoples of central and south america at the hands of the Spanish is cause for great shame for the Spanish nation and peoples. My question to you is how is it possible to continue being a human being and looking yourself in the mirror after your Spanish nation committed such unprovoked heinous, barbaric genocide against women, children and the elderly?
