Emme responded by saying, ‘I don’t know too many women who would turn down a date with Keanu Reeves, Lou Diamond Phillips, Tiger Woods or James Iha (of the Smashing Pumpkins), who are all or partly Asian.’ Emma, none of those men are Asian! Every single one of them is part-Asian, and in every case, their non-Asian features dominate. Heck, most people aren’t even aware that Keanu has a few drops of Asian blood in his system. I sometimes ask people if they can name even a single Asian male heartthrob. They almost invariably mention Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan — neither of whom attained heartthrob status! (And Bruce Lee has been dead for 30 years now!)
