DeniseParticipantit is simply because the issues vary within different races. a white woman is not in pursuit of the same things as a chicana woman or a black woman. a main issue in whhite womens movements has been the right to have an abortion, while women of color sometimes dont even have access to birth control and contraceptives. i feel that the issues are very different, and that is why there is such seperation.

DeniseParticipantas a person of color, i am deeply appaled by this question. As a chicana, i can just say that TV shows, holidays, and everything else cannot compare to the 500+ years of colonization and exploitation that we have endured. it can never make up for the genocide, rape, toruture, and enslavement of my people, and it can never bring back the culture, language, and history that we have lost. i dont think whites can say the same/
