Dave25994ParticipantA layperson’s opinion: I believe, in general, fetishes come from an experience during one’s formative years that links sexual arousal with some non-sexual act. Perhaps one’s first experience with sexual arousal is linked with a urination experience. (walked in on an older sister’s friend while she was peeing, that kind of thing). Once that connection gets made, it isn’t broken. It is usually the first, most basic and strongest sexual experience, and the person then develops a fetish in an unconscious attempt to recreate it. We all have fantasies – the things that most arouse us. For most of us, they’re to do with genuinely sexual images – from girlie mags, etc. Some people had that short-circuited.
