Some people don’t enjoy the benefits of the capitalistic society on which this country is bred. That may cause them to be jealous. Americans seem more concerned with wealth and power than education and equality of its citizens. Technology and other areas of intellectual growth are not a priority. That could be why they are perceived as ‘slow’ or ‘stupid.’ The fast food and sedentary lifestyle make for obesity. Again, all Americans are not fat, slow and stupid. The overall response is that everyone has an opinion. You should formulate your own. Take stock in America and obtain some of the benefits it has to offer!

There is more ground to be leveled before anything will be fair or equal in America. What is the history of Caucasian education? Well, in the recent past, it was illegal to teach blacks to read. It is still considered in some places appropriate to place minority children in classrooms where no educational curriculum is used. Would you consider educating minorities polluting the school system? The same difference exists in the work world. Children grow to adults. If they are not taught (allowed to learn) as children, then they don’t become adults who are able to compete academically/intellectually. However, the extremely intelligent minorities who are usually passed over because of the ‘old boy network’ (which still exists) are not in that pool of affirmative action recruits because they would have to be the supervisor/boss (given fair assessment of credentials). So I don’t believe you’re just the messenger. You’re the product of a racist society, which happens to reap the benefits.

There is very little in this world that a Black man controls. Therefore, if he can make you wait then he feels alittle better about himself for a few minutes. Can you imagine what his life must be like to need such minor annoyances to feel powerful or simply ‘okay’? Of course, it isn’t all Black men who do this, but enough of a pattern to generalize. This is so unfortunate. This pattern can be observed among all nationalities of teenagers (and yet not all teenagers)! Could be it goes with immaturity and powerseeking.

Have you ever been in a room of people and tried to share in conversation and noone acknowledged you or responded to your comment? Well, that is how it is in America for Blacks. You may be too young to remember the saying, ‘Say it loud,I’m Black and I’m proud!’ or ‘Black is beautiful’. For too many years, Blacks were not even allowed in American Beauty pageants. The integrity of a beauty contestant was not even questioned until a Black won. Blacks need to be recognized with their own identity (not like tanned caucasians).

The United Negro College Fund and the NAACP were founded at a time of open segregation. Negroes didn’t go to college because their parents couldn’t afford it. Negroes didn’t get scholarships because of racism not low grades or national test scores. Caucasians went because they could afford to pay. It wasn’t because they were smarter or more academically astute. Even today, there is still disparity in pay (Blacks do not get equal pay for same job/position). Racism is alive and well! All people support/promote themselves. Blacks should too!!!!

There is no excuse for maltreatment of anyone. The problem is that the people you encounter are feeling hated and not appreciated for who they are. They may see in you all the advantages they did or do not have and it makes them jealous. Usually, confronting jealousy doesn’t do anything except turn to green-eyed envy. You will do well to befriend the Blacks who are secure and love people because they know God and don’t define themselves by others. Pray for them and you will gain a blessing (possibly friends too)!
