ClaireParticipantThe expression ‘we are what we eat’ is my immediate response to this question. What we consume generates a multitude of physical responses, including smell. Every cultural group throughout the world has a unique smell, due to their similar diets. Asian, African, white, Chinese – we all eat different foods, therefore producing a different set of toxins that are released through the pores on our bodies. When someone of a different culture does smell different, we assume that smell is bad, as our survival instincts kick in to be aware of a predator.
