Chris B.MemberThe title of the author’s book was not meant to be offensive. He is a white male interested in facilitating dialogue between the ‘races.’ He stated on a TV show that he had asked a black co-worker if it was true (about the wet dog smell), and she said yes. This, among other things, gave him the idea to create a web site that would allow people to ask any question, about anything, no matter how embarrassing.
In addition, I have noticed myself that a considerable number of white people do have a ‘wet dog’ smell when their hair is wet. The question may be offensive, but it is legitimate. Also, I have a question for white people: Why do so many white people in certain parts of the country refuse to wear winter clothes when it is cold, or even snowing outside?
