BobMemberDoes anyone doubt for a second that if the title of the book was Why do Black People Smell Like Wet Dogs that it would have been taken up as a cause celebre by the NAACP, CORE, SNCK, SCLC and any number of other black-oriented organizations? Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would have been up in arms calling for the banning of the book. I bought the book and found it interesting, but an extension of this web site. There is a double standard operating in this country. Black people think there is ‘yet something else’ that they are missing. Never having been ‘there,’ they don’t know that they ARE ‘there.’ There is no secret handshake in order to get the ‘white folk’ discount from the local merchant. From this point on, black folk, just like white folk, if they are going to ‘get it’ they are going to have to get up every morning, and work their butt off for it. I don’t believe you will ever see the day when all white people will like all black people, and vice versa. Disliking someone does not necessarily make one a racist. I don’t like white people for the same reasons I don’t like black people. If a person robs, lies, steal, etc., I won’t like them, regardless of the color of their skin.
