BertMemberCosby was right and the truth often hurts. There is a large and growing faction of blacks in this country that, though silent, have very much the identical feelings that Cosby does. Although we do not have the same advantages as whites, often of lesser mettle and ability, the opportunity to raise our living standards in this country can be realized with diligence and effort. There will always be a spectrum of intelligence, potential, social level & drive in EVERY group. With the glass ceiling being somewhat raised for minority groups, the separations will continue to become more evident and that is a GOOD thing.

BertMemberWhat is more important IMHO, is how we treat out fellow man at each meeting be he like or unlike us. We are all ultimately judged by how we treat others. Christianity is a good basis but ALL religions have much the same basis of kindness, honesty, humility, etc. So to that end, we do not NEED religion but it can serve as a guideline for ones’ moral/conduct compass. It’s when it starts to serve as a basis to divide people that I have a problem and is why I opted OUT of Christianity though I will be the first to say that it is at the base of my personal compass. I have chosen to take from other beliefs as well…which is a no-no in the Christian faith. Remember, we all have CHOICE my friend. Peace.

BertMemberBy appearance but not by life experience, (immigrant parents, English-educated, professional father), I am black. As such, I have had unique access into the life of the diverse American black person at least of the eastern seaboard of this country. Yes, racism is still very much alive but if you are NOT black (or some racial minority), it is very possible to believe that there is no racism! But if you were able to ‘morph’ or if you have a close friend that is a minority with whom you feel comfortable enough to ask (and also believe), you’d be quite amazed to know of how their daily life experience is. If there is nothing else that minority groups have in common they will STILL have the experience of racism in common. Personally I find this to be an unforgivable shame while others I know feel that it’s ‘natural’.

BertMemberRelax, get comfortable with your mate and get to know your own body and how it works. I’m happy to see that you’ve not blamed your mate! We are each responsible for our own fulfillment. With time and maybe a change in technique it will come (or you will!) MANY women have this condition and it often takes extra effort from their mates to get the music going. Good luck and remember, R-E-L-A-X! No alcohol! It dulls women’s sensitivity!!!
