BeccaParticipantSometimes people are refused visas because the immigration officials think — for various reasons — that the person will try to stay permanently in the States instead of going home at the expiration of the visa. Some things that might lead them to suspect this: if the person applying for a visa has family members living in the United States, if the person can’t prove financial worth in his or her home country, if the person seems non-commital about coming back home.
