I am not a parent, but take it from one who has been through it and knows: ‘puppy love’ is the most intense love you will ever feel. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that it’s not real love, because it is. Having said that, a young man or woman in their mid-teens is not in circumstances where it can become anything permanent, unless of course it lasts with the same person for several years. I do not think there is a thing in the world wrong with ‘marrying your high school sweetheart,’ though most of us aren’t blessed with that privilege.
