I would have to say that a lot of black people are a little cautious when it comes to swimming. For one thing, we don’t have as many chances to learn to swim as others, and, as it was said before, black women and girls spend a lot of time on our hair, and the water would ruin it. That’s not a chance most of us are willing to take.
