Suicide is killing someone. Therefore to commit suicide is to commit murder, which is violating one of the ten commandments. God gives life, and only He can take a life. That is the reasoning behind suicide being a sin. It is not universally accepted in Christianity that suicide is a sin. When Christ died for our sins, He paid for all our sins. Although one cannot deliberately sin and say that His sin is covered, some people have been under the influence of drugs, or other influences and feel that life is no longer tolerable. Having said all this, if Christ is living in us, we are no longer our own. We belong to Christ. When we run out of our resources, we are to call on His resources.
