- A quick history lesson: At some point - I think the 10th century - an Africian tribe called the Moors raided southern Sicily. The usual things happened: looting, destroying, conquering and, of course, rape. So, long story short: In addition to having that gene from the early humans on earth, many Sicilians have 'black blood' from just over 1,000 years ago. This is why Italians tend to hate black people. This is why we Italians get a great tan, and why we have curly hair. Most people, even Italians, don't know it.

Those same guys might be the person to finally cure cancer. Everyone is different. Sure some races are better at certain things then others, but not always. If every black person were good at basketball, we may not have peanut butter, the automatic car wash, or blood transfusions. Every one is different. If something is funny, so what. Most white guys can't jump. Me? I can. But I can't rope a steer (don't want to either). There are exceptions to every 'rule'. That is the way we were raised. I can't speak for other races, but I know that white kids under 25 are worried about image. Being considerate of others is not one of them. Here in Columbus there was recently a fire that killed 10 people who did not speak English. Part of the tragedy was blamed on teh lack of communication between the fire department and the people in this particular neighborhood. Now there is talk that all public servants should learn spanish, to communicate withe the growing population here in central Ohio. WHY? As Glenda said, people that come here should all speak one language. I understand that at one time English wasn't the native tongue, and whites took over the land...i am aware of the flaws and crimes done by my ancestors, but this is the 21st century. I thinkit is cool if families would like to sit around the diner table and speak in their native tongue. It would probably be good for parent/kid bonding, but out in public the language is English and for the saftey and convience of everyone, we should all no it!!! I learned in elemantary school that European countries(and Japan) learned English, not to help tourists, but to be ready in case of occupation during the cold war. Any one who wants to enjoy all that this great county has to offer(mexican,eastern european, middle eastern, or who ever) should learn the language of the land.User Detail :

I live in Columbus,OH. and this is one of the most tolerante cities when it comes to cultural diversity. Sure we have racist whites,blacks and others, but for the most part people here get along. I have been to the south and it is a whole diffent place there. Some places seem like it is still the 50's. Sure there are some people in the suburbs here who seem alittle afraid of black or hispanic people, but i thinkit is becuase they never had the opportunity to meet them and see that every race or religion has its own quirks and flaws. No one is perfect. Although i must say here in Columbus most peopl eare accepting, even if they are alittle fearful of other people. IF you look and pay attention though it is a fear of the unknown, not other people and cultures specificly. Remember we were part of the underground railroad, not the half of the country that want to keep slaves!!User Detail :

White men claim to like a specific look because that is what we are told is 'best'. So boys and young men are lead to the path of the blonde hair/ blue eyes and petite. There ae many men who look for a a female with a little meat on her bones. Unfortunatley they won't all admit to it. I think that most white guys try to live up to the false status symbol that comes with a lean woman on their arm.
