Yes, the term Redskins is demeaning because it's a term the cowboys used to indicate an Indian scalp was taken for bounty. White people today think it's OK because they never suffered all the humiliatian that Indian people were put through. Even today, people have a very stereotypical view of Indian people and the Redskin mascots only tend to propigate the stereotype. You would never hear of names like the Yale Crac*ers or the New York Spi*ks because it's wrong. So too is the term Redskins

Most people don't know it but the US Constitution is based on Native American style of Government. When Jefferson and Franklin were writing the Constitution, they were so taken by the Iroquios Confedercy style of government the incorporated much of it in the Constitution. If you don't believe me, look up the Iraquios Confederacy. Their style of government was very advanced. Native Americans were advanced far more than our history books teach us because history was recorded by white people and they wrote a very slanted view of us as Indian people. We actually contributed much of the food on your plates today and about 60% of the meds you take have Native American origins.

They are just that. Chants. Most Native American songs are just chants. Today, as our culture is ever changing, some of the contemporary Native American songs use Native American words. The old songs were just chants. The songs were handed down from generation to generation and most belonged to famlies and were only sung by the famlies that owned them. There are songs called 'Round dance Songs' that have English words and sometimes convey an expression of love for another and some convey humor.

Hell no! At least Native American dance. It's so funny watching so called Indians, usually claiming to be Cherokee, tring to dance like us. Native Americans dance ever so gracefully because they are one connected with the earth dancing to the heartbeat of the Mother Earth.
