Allen KadisParticipant- NAACP focus is Black American issues. The analagous group for Hispanics is the National Council of La Raza http://www.nclr.org Asians are represented by the Asian Human Rights Commision http://www.ahrchk.net/ Native Americans Native American Relief Fund http://www.narf.org/ Each group serves the interests of it’s constiuency through advocacy, lobby activities in congress and offering testimony to law makers. These groups are not about individual personal support but instead the class of people they represent. I do know some issues carry across ethnic boudries, for example getting pulled over on the highway for DWB (driving while brown) by police who target non whites. The black man does not worry that the police will assume he is an illegal alien even if he was born in this country. But the NAACP does not deal with immigration abuse issues in that example. So all the groups are accepting of anyone who wishes to join, but the focus is appropriate to their constituency. NAACP does not adequitely represent Asians or Hispanics and nor should it. But all the groups support diversity. - User Detail :Name : Allen Kadis, Gender : M, Race : White/Caucasian, Age : 51, City : Westminister, State : MD, Country : United States, Education level : 4 Years of College,
