Just a jumbled summary of what has gone on in the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Please jump in if I missed anything or I am just wrong =) Palestinians and other Islamic people are mad about the Israelis just moving in, and rightfully so, but killing over it will not solve anything. Spilling blood over such a holy place is no way to honour it. Palestinians are fighting people that have been stepped on by many groups for millennia, so if they think terrorist attacks will scare them away, they have another thing coming. The need for a Jewish nation where the ancient Israel was is a justified one. The Palestinians displacement is brutal and rightfully hated. Muslims cannot win an a military battle against the Israelis especially with European and U.S. support. The support given by these two bodies is also justified as they seen the Jewish plight first hand. HOWEVER, Israel failed to respect the amount of power they were given and Europe/U.S. should have been more critical of Israel’s use of such power. Its very hard to find middle ground in this if both cases are justified. In the end it just shows that military insurgency was just a miserable way to set up Israel, as it gave no regard for the people of the area. It is obvious that Israel needs to respect Palestinians more. The frequent abuses they suffer are absurd. The only action they can take to get a peaceful resolution is for Palestinians to be like Ghandi and just stage a protest in the middle of an Israeli commercial center by just sitting down en masse and fasting/praying for peace. The more people the better for the protest, other Muslims, Jews and Christians would be great and be a better example over the universal outrage of the violence. Protesters may be beaten or shot for doing this but it was the same case in India decades ago and it all ended with India’s independance. Anger has a stranglehold on both sides and they can’t see straight. Now the conflict is more about revenge. Violence will continue even in peace just like with the group ‘The Real IRA’ did after the peace in Ireland. The key is to get peace now and deal with the rest together. Only a few people that lead each side actually want violence to continue but somehow the ones at the top end up sending out the troops.
