    Yes, yes, yes. Black people are not some exotic animal species, just normal folks. My daughter’s best friend (black) died in an auto accident. My daughter is Godmother to her orphaned son. He visits frquently and spends school holidays with us. I lived in Atlanta and fully half of our middle class neighbors were black.     Yes, my closest friend is a black man (more like a brother). He even lived with my husband and myself for almost a year when he was going through some difficult times. He was absolutely the best house guest you could ever ask for. He picked up after himself, helped with dishes, cleaning. My parents always taught me not to be prejudice. That people are people, no matter what their color, religion, handicap, ect. may be. I was taught to look at the inner person, not what someone’s “outer shell” looks like. They are people, just like everyone else.
