Why do many African-American people say ‘ax’ or ‘aks’ when saying the word ‘ask’? Does this also occur with ‘task’ or ‘bask’? When watching tv, I often hear this, and it doesn’t seem to be related to age or education – many celebrities and others one would expect to be educated use this form.
