religion vs. state

    In the US and Canada, as well as many other countries, religion and state have been integrated. However, in countries like France religion and state remain seperate, at least in terms of laws, healthcare, and education. Do you think that the two should remain seperate? The problem, to me, with religion integrated in politics is the risk of discriminating against individuals whose beliefs are not present within the system.
