stvnParticipantwhy are jews discriminated against when, unlike blacks for instance, there is no obvious reason for it?

ShirleyAveryParticipantPeople are always looking for a scapegoat when times are bad. Since Jews have always valued education, they have had better jobs and more wealth than the average person. Some people hate or distrust them or are jealous of them for that reason. Also, it used to be taught that the Jews killed Jesus (it was the Romans who did that) and that was one justification for hating Jews. The Pope withdrew that Jesus killer charge many years ago. Also, most Jews refuse to convert to Christianity and Christian fanatics felt they must convert everyone and those who refused weren’t worth living. Just Curious

DotParticipantJews represent one of the most successful minorities in my city. They are disproportionately represented in my professional field and kissed up to more than discriminated against. So it probably depends on where you’re living. Here there is certainly no widespread discrimination against Jews (Mel Gibson notwithstanding).
