I realize that the American media glorifies life in the big cities on the ‘coasts’, but am I the only one who thinks both the people on the East and West coast basically suck? I can say with confidence that people on the East coast live in a Machiavellian world where only self glorification and personal advancement matter. Although I have less experience with those from the West coast, my more limited experience tells me that they are exactly the same, just lying about it. I really have grown to detest encounters with New Yorkers or Bostonians, and even most Californians, say from San Fran or LA. If someone at work tells me, ‘there’s someone we need you to talk to from DC’, my heart just sinks. Really. Having lived in most places in America, and learned about the regional cultures, why are only the most decadent, decrepit, inhospitable cultures glamorized on TV, NPR, films, everywhere basically?
