What happened after the first day after all black were free?

It was just easier and more comfortable, this was of course the ones with the more nice masters. They had free room and bored in exchange for some work. Some left and most of those went north to get away from the south, if they could afford it. Others tried to make a life for themselves whatever way they wanted to or could.
