Is the norm for (Ph.D.) psychologists to use the title ‘doctor’ professionally? I’ve noticed quite a bit of variation in this regard. Are those that go by ‘Dr.’ so-and-so generally perceived as pompous/arrogant? I frequently notice people address psychologists in the workplace by their first names upon first meeting. Is this disrespectful?
