Why must I do what the Christian God wants?

I am completely opposed to any sort of dogma, whether it be rationalist or religious in nature. Dogmas tend to restrict and confine one’s perceptions and will to live. So in your case, I agree, Christians have no right to impose their beliefs on you. The fact that Christians are more numerous does not give any greater legitimacy to their faith. Christians follow herd values and so it does not surprise me that they wish to bring you into the fold. One must stand vigilent when in the company of a Christian, or one might find himself denying his own existance in favour of an existance as a slave. It has been said that not all Christians impose their beliefs as vehemently as been described and that may be true; however, it is also possible that most Christians are more insidious in their manipulations. Lastly, Christians worship a dead god. The Christian God has been dead ever since the only true Christian died on the cross nearly two thousand years ago. Christianity now is only a twisted incarnation of its originally grotesque form.

Hello there, I am one of Jehovah’s witnesses and I just wanted to let u know that we as Christians do not force our beliefs on anyone. We are here for one purpose and that is to educate people regarding the bible. We as Jehovah’s witnesses do not (vote) so there for we do not effect u that way either. All we want to do is inform you that there is a God according to the bible and that he has principles that he wishes us to follow, also that he will reward us if we follow them and punish those who do not. We do believe that all people go to hell so you are not the only one. HELL is just the place we all go when we die. Jehovah remembers our memories at that point so he may resurrect us to a paradise earth when he has finished off evil and badness. I am so very sorry that you feel it is the Christians that are persecuting you but if you think about what it means to be Christian, it means to be Christ like. If you read the bible u will not find a single area of it that speaks of Jesus getting involved politically or imposing his beliefs on others. Yours truly, Jeremy

What are you talking about? The foundation for kingship in feudal Europe was that the king was the chosen representative of the Christian God.
Also, I’m quite certain the Bible quotes Jesus as saying that he *is* the only way into heaven; it was in one of the gospels, but I can’t pin down exactly where. Any Christians willing to lend a hand to a nonbeliever?

All men are born knowing right from wrong. You know it’s right when you help an old lady to her feet after she has fallen to the ground. You know that it is wrong to rob her, too. Bringing new life into the world is good, but murder is bad. This is not the education of society. To the contrary, society encourages wonton sex, murder, stealing, and every manner of evil act there is. Society teaches that morals are like hairstyles, always changing, so it doesn’t matter. But there is a reason there is right and wrong. there is a reason doing good feels good, and doing wrong brings darkness to your life. All sin begins in selfishness. All good begins in being selfless. You have to ask yourself, why is this? Animals don’t feel guilt, so why do people? Why do so many people look beyond themselves and aspire for something higher? Why do we all think there is something, anything, bigger than us, and that it matters? What is this that speaks to all of us? There is no earthly reason to think so, no evolutionary tendency to think this way, and would indeed seem contrary to the theory of evolution. Why would being contrary to any of this invoke such strong emotions?
