Rebecca30081ParticipantOk, I’m a cashier, and so when a person comes on my line I generally say ‘Hi, how are you’ Why is it so often that old people feel the need to tell me things I don’t want to hear? Why can’t they just say ‘I’m fine’ I don’t need to hear about your hemmoroids, yeast infections, colonoscopys or mammograms thank you.

ShirleyAveryParticipantYou asked them a question and they’re answering it honestly. Maybe they assumed you were sincere. Instead of saying how are you, just say, “good morning or good afternoon”, whatever. Some of these old people are lonely and have nobody to talk to. They mistake your cliche words for sincerity. Think about it. Just Curious
