Sheryl SukdolakParticipantWell there may be several reasons why your black friends don’t respond. The most obvious could be that they don’t know what RSVP means or they might mistakenly believe it means to respond only if you can’t make it (seriously I know many people who think this and they’re not all black either). Another reason might be that they put off responding til the last minute and then forget to RSVP and we can’t rule out sometimes it’s just thoughtlessness. I have a question for you: are these the same black friends over and over not responding and if so why haven’t you ever casually mentioned to them about the RSVP issue? I’m going to offer a piece of advice:if you haven’t received a RSVP from someone by the last day you need in order to prepare your food, decorations etc, simply call and ask them it will save you alot of time and trouble because you’ll be better able to estimate the amount of food and things you’ll need.
