Why is Scientology so secretive? Is there anyone out there who would care to reveal something about this clandestine religon?

The founder of Scientology stated ‘To make lots of money, form a new religion.’ A friend told me the average service will run you close to 200 bucks to attend.

Your right, scientology is secretive, for a good reason. One of scientology’s doctrines is how mental illnesses are caused by the tiny souls of aliens killed by a warlord named ‘Xenu’ 75 million years ago. Only scientology knows how to get rid of them, and for a high price. Sounds rediculous, right? Thats why they dont reveal this to you until you have spent thousands of dollars and spent years in scientology. You can find more information about scientology’s secrets at http://www.xenu.net

Read L.Ron Hubbard’s ‘dyanetics’ for an overview of what they claim to be. I was raised by two philosophical/christian scholars who had a friend who ‘disappeared’ when he tried to defect from the ‘religion.’ They are a cult and they extort money to help them in their method of cleansing your persona of sin. I add that their method of catharsis involves what I have heard described as two tin cans attached to a rope that read your bodies signals somehow. If they were truly so righteous and actually have a plan to save me from my wickedness inflicted upon me by society – they would be free and publicize themselves to everyone – not just certain celebraties who we know are rolling in dough.

Our actions are anything but secretive. In fact, the Church published What is Scientology?, a more than 700-page reference book that explains everything one might want to know about the Church. Our Churches hold open house events and tours regularly, and many of our churches open their facilities free of charge for use by community and civic groups. There is nothing mysterious about Scientology or its members and practices. The Church’s leaders are in close touch with the membership and they hold events throughout the year which we attended by tens of thousands, many non-Scientologists are welcome as well. We are actively involved in our communities, visible and effective.

Before starting the $cientology machine, founder L. Ron Hubbard inexcusably abused the one genuine privilege life granted him: to assist Jack Parsons with one of the most important spiritual experiments of the twentieth century, the Babalon Working, in 1946. Hubbard passed himself off as friend, brother-in-spirit, and confidante of his mentor Parsons, then absconded with Parsons’ yacht, girlfriend, and money. More than that, he absconded with at least a rudimentary working knowledge of the secrets of sexual and ceremonial magick he had learned from his time with Parsons. Hubbard added his own distinctive sci-fi blarney into the mix and twisted these powerful tools into a money-making machine. Publicized and sold bit by bit for increasingly exorbitant fees as a psycho-spiritual technology to cure to all human ills, $cientology became the hydra-headed pseudo-mystical religion it is known as today. Each step along the path of $cientology supposedly takes its marks deeper into the secrets of the ‘religion’ — ‘secrets’ which cost more and more at each step (some of the ‘high levels’ in $cientology are as modestly priced as a small mansion in southern California…) and which consist of this blend of sci-fi storytelling intermingled with practices and concepts totally ripped off from a hodgepodge of older magickal/mystical teachings from various paths, yet stripped of their true substance and usefulness, reconfigured to serve L. Ron and the Organization’s purposes: to bind its adherents into their respective posts as cogs in this perpetual-motion engine of self-promotion. $cientology is quite possibly the most successful attempt by a single human being to create a religion entirely for no other purpose than to make money. This is not conjecture; Hubbard is reported to have said as much in several conversations around the time he launched his project. Anyway, hit a search engine on the web and type in ‘scientology’ or ‘L. Ron Hubbard’ and I’m sure you will find more ‘secrets’ than you ever really cared to know.

I’ll post this completely anonymously, without detail, since the Church of Scientology tends to be vigorous with its lawyers to people who would reveal its ‘secrets’. However, there is a brave soul who publishes a website that will tell you all you need to know. Its URL is http://www.xenu.com — it’s called Operation Clambake.

The fundamental truth about scientology is that it was started by a science fiction writer (L. Ron Hubbard) as a joke. Unfortunately, some people who came late to the party didn’t know that and took it seriously. It has since grown into a cult with probably 5,000 followers. It was the 60s.

Hi Karen, Scientlogy is as far from secret as anything could possibly be. Check out http://www.scientology.org/ it is packed with information about Scientology and the book ‘What is Scientology?’ covers the basics of what the religion and it’s members are all about. Need more information? Go to your local Church of Scientology and you will find the doors open and the staff willing to help show you about Scientology.

Scientology is not a true religion. It is a cult, started by its founder l. ron hubbard. They actually make followers sign away their right to speak freely about a lot of it, they also pay celebrities to endorse it. It is a fraud. I have heard talks from an ex-scientologist, a former best friend of hubbards who lived with him aboard a submarine. He said that they claimed hubbard had reached the ‘highest level’ of enlightenment. But, when hubbard died they claimed that he had reached a new level of enlightenment, previously not discussed, to keep the religion going. basically, it’s one of the best scams of the past century. I forget this guys name but he has written about scientology before. Everytime he makes some money they sue him for everything so he lives in perpetual poverty.
