Thorsten RoggendorfParticipantHi, I just saw Bush’s adress to the nation … I was really shocked. The USA brings the taliban to power because of a pipeline, thereby destroying the scarce remains of afghan culture. Now Bush sets an ultimatum to the taliban and the congress interupts him with ninute long standing ovations? How sick is that? He promises to substantially raise funds and authorization for the secret services – and is again interupted by minutelong standing ovatuions? The USA have the best funded secret services on the planet. The US-Secret services systematically intercept all possible communication worldwide (see officially confirmed echelon report to european parliament). And yet the means applyd by US secret services obviously failed to prevent what happened. And Bush promises to cut down on human rights. Good luck America. And he basicly promises to any nation that it can only be with or against the USA! Is he nuts? Does he want to tell Russia or China or India or Pakistan what to do? Those are all nuclear powers. And in the past all of them had opinions often dangerously diverging from US-opinions. Now especially Pakistan which raises fund for the taliban and produces weapons for them comes to mind. Pakistan (nuclear power, remember?) is not very stable these days. Bush scares the shit out of the fragile junta that currently governs Pakistan and the congress brings him standing ovations. Americans dropped the first and only nukes against people ever. And tested the long term effects on their own soldiers. They should have a bit more respect for nukes. And they should be a bit more sensitive about what they are doing in (and to) the world. Thorsten
