Murray C.ParticipantIs it just me, or does every woman out there seem to have som sort of ‘medical condition’? For instance, my wife is allergic to penicilin, her mother has digestive problems, my mother suffers from migranes, many of my female co-workers suffer from a variety of things as well (allergies, diabetes, manic depression, etc etc etc etc) Every woman I meet has some sort of ‘condition’. It becomes frustrating to socialize with friends and family because one of the women has a condition (can’t go camping because Susie is allergic to the wilderness, can’t eat at a nice restaurant because Helen has a thousand food allergies, can’t go to the movies because Sidney suffers from seizures, can’t go to a concert with Brenda because she suffers from migranes). What’s wrong with these women? Out of all the women I know that have problems, none their husbands or boyfriends suffers from anything [major]. Are women more prone to these conditions, or are they just hypocondriacts?

ShirleyAveryParticipantWomen are much more open about health problems and willing to deal with them than men. My father was a family doctor and explained this to me. Men don’t want to appear weak. This makes sense from an evolutionary point of view because of the “survival of the fittest”. Weaker males in most species don’t get the best pick of “babes” and they are more frequently targeted by more powerful males for competition and fights. My point is, there are plenty of men with “conditions” (I’ve dated several). They just don’t advertise it like women do. Just Curious
