For years I never understood patriotism. Lately, I feel like I’m starting to develop a better understanding. This is partly due to changes in my own life, me simply getting tired of a liberal extremist. It’s also becase of my first political science class, studying american history and government. It’s a fairly international truth that America, at it’s birth, was largely an unprecendented experiment. And while now, two hundred years later, it’s far from perfect, it has made my life good in ways I’ve only just begun to understand. I don’t care about politicians or parties, but America as a system is remarkable, and I feel it deserves my respect and thanks.
