VanessaMemberMaybe it’s because I’m not a very religious person, maybe i don’t really care that much about it…but my question is this, why is virginity considered such a asset?

ShellyStrauss RollisonParticipantThere is an emotional and physical benefit to being a virgin until one meets the person one wants to spend the rest of his/her life with. On an emotional level, it’s one hell of a gift to be able to say and/or hear, “You’re the only one who I’ve ever let touch me like this.” On a physical level, a woman’s chance of getting cervical cancer increases if she has more than five sexual partners in her entire lifetime. There’s the risk of STDs, unplanned pregnancies (which carry their own inherent risks), UTIs, etc. There’s also the ego/false pride thing of being someone’s first if you set out to be the first knowing the other person is a virgin. IOW, if your intent is simply to be the first because you can, it’s an ego/false pride issue on YOUR part. Love and Light, Rev. Shelly
