Why is it more ‘socially acceptable’ for males to be unattractive than females-? That is, if a male is balding or overweight, he probably rarely hears any commentary about this. If a female is overweight, uses no makeup, and wears sweatpants to the grocery store, why is it common to hear ‘Fatso,’ ‘Cow,’ or some other derogatory remark?
