Shelly27968ParticipantIn my dorm at school, I’ve noticed that some black female students haven’t been very outgoing towards myself and my other white friends. We’ve always said ‘hello’ and smiled sincerly in passing, but have not received a very friendly response, and sometimes the other black females on my floor will just look away. I’ve also noticed that these same girls only socialize with other black girls, and seem to almost isolate themselves. We’ve also tried inviting them to parties but always get rejected for some reason. Which brings me to my questions: How do some black women feel about white women? While reading some responses posted on ‘Y’ I’ve noticed some resentment towards white women, saying that ‘white women are more submissive’, and things of that general nature. Would you be willing to specify what you may mean by this? And if you do resent white women to some degree, would you care to elaborate on your feelings towards white women in general? I know that not all black women may feel this way, but to those that do feel negatively, I would like to understand why you may behave coldly towards white women specifically.
