I actually stole this question from someelse’s answer to another question and it sparked my curiosity: My question to Harley owners: Do your cycles have to be so loud? I’m tired of having to plug my ears when one drives by me on the street. Or even if I’m driving with the windows down and one passes me, often they’re so loud they hurt. What’s the purpose of this? Do they not come with mufflers? Or do you feel more powerful when you’re louder than everyone else on the road? It’s not just older Harleys, either. I’ve seen brand new machines that could shatter glass.
