Paul30488ParticipantWhy do I always feel compelled to speak louder when I talk to someone who has a foreign accent?

AquellaParticipantIt’s because you think that because you can’t understand them clearly, that they can’t understand you clearly, so you naturally speak louder.

Rich K.MemberI think yelling at them is your way of preventing yourself from punching them. I understand your dilemma. I’ve worked with Albanians, Iraqians and blacks with that heavy ebonic accent, and it made me want to scream sometimes. Just try to stay cool; it’s only going to get worse. I think if you live here, you must speak the language – our language.
