jackMemberWhy is it that some black persons can refer to another person as ‘..my nigga’ or ‘nigger’. Where a white person might say ‘This is my friend Chris’, a black person might say ‘This is my nigga Chris’. I have seen discussions of this on TV that stated ‘those who are not educated use the term’ If so, what about when my when my black friend Dre (who has a 4 year degree from Penn State) greets me with a handshake says ‘What’s up my nigga?’ in the same why he would a black friend? Personally would never use this term with him even though if I were to it would be non-offensive. Usually it is never ‘OK’ for a white person to use this term in any way with a black person. When and why is it OK to use this term in conversing between black persons? When and why is it OK when conversing between black and white persons?
