Steve-BParticipantLiving in Canada, I’ve had a lot of American influence on my life. I know so much about American social life and history (presidents and such) simply from TV alone. My question is, do Americans know anything about Canadian history and Canadian life?

Todd24655ParticipantUnfortunately, most Americans know absolutely nothing about Canada. A damn shame, too. I have lived in Canada (for a little over a year) and loved it. Still do. I’m sure you’ve noticed that Americans take a condescending view of y’all guys. One knucklehead even wondered why I was waiting in the international arrivals area of my local airport to greet a friend coming down from Toronto. ‘That aint a foreign flight!’ I can’t explain it; all I can do is let you know that there are a few of us that really dig your country.

AngiParticipantOkay Stevo, I’ve grown up in the American school system. Even though it was small, we got to learn just as much as the big cities in the US. The other thing we learn about Canada or any other country are the follow: 1) did any significant explorer visit there? (2) did the US attack them for any reason and why? (3) are they in the current news involving the US? So in other words, it had to deal with this country. 🙁 That is just plain sad.
