Why does the media insist on reporting that one of the victims of the Littleton, Co., shootings – Isaiah Shoels – was black, and even saying he was “targeted” because of his ethnicity?

From what I know of that story, the media insist he was targeted because the shooters were against jocks and people of color. Since Shoels was a popular “jock” who was also black, he was a main target. Since he wasn’t the only one in the room when he was killed, don’t you question why they went after him, instead of the others around him who may or may not have been jocks as well?

The reason the media keeps insisting that Isaiah Shoels was targeted is that it gets a huge reaction from the public. It serves as a kind of confirmation for people who agree with that viewpoint, and it annoys the people who disagree with it.

Considering the fact that he was called a “nigger” right before he died, it is to be believed that Isaiah Shoels may have been a target in the Columbine school shootings. What all-white organized cults are not against minorities and other people of difference?

It seems that every time there’s a white-on-black crime, the media almost immediately starts looking for some racial motive. On the other hand, I notice that when there’s a black-on-white murder, they try to downplay the racial factor. I think this stems from the fact that the media is mostly liberal. In the Columbine case, based on the photo I saw, the so-called “Trenchcoat Mafia” had non-whites (Hispanic and Asian) as members. One of the shooters had a web site where he denounced racism. They’ve also been tied to an anarchist group, so I actually doubt there was any racial motivations; I think it’s all media hype.

It’s, of course, impossible for us to know what exactly was in the minds of the shooters in Littleton, but I have many serious doubts as to the veracity of the “targeted because he was black” story. For one thing, he was the only black person fired upon, let alone killed. I feel it’s more likely that the student in question was targeted for some past misdeed (real or imagined). The use of the racial epithet was probably used for simple shock value (if it was used at all). Two important side notes: One, the kids involved were not members of any organization called the “Trenchcoat mafia.” Nobody was. There was no such organization, that’s just what the other kids called them and it stuck. Two, remember the martyr girl who was allegedly shot in the head after saying she believed in God? The autopsy report says she was shot in the chest. Doesn’t this call into question much of the so-called “witness” testimony?

A better question to ask is why the media focused on the black kid, as if the 12 white victims weren’t as important. Also, why, when one of the shooters was found to be a Jew, was the whole subject of racism dropped from the mainstream media?
