J. ArmstrongMemberI have read that in certain countries there are no taboo words. Is this true?

ACC24042ParticipantYou’re standing in one of those places right now. Most American Indian languages have no cursing or taboo words. We have to use English. Spanish, French, etc, if we feel the need to curse.

Dan31656ParticipantI have a friend who is a Maori Islander (native to New Zealand). She tells me there are no curse words or obscenities anywhere in the Maori language. There are insults, such as ‘you are as noble as the head of a dead dog’ or ‘your mother’s flesh sticks between my teeth,’ but nothing like the F-word or anything like that.
