tania-van-bergenParticipant10/11/99 Dear parent, caregive, or professional: We are doing research on families for a Millennium special for ABC Children First, a public service campaign of ABC. The show will examine how childhood has changed in America during this century. Given projections about the increasing number of multi-ethnic children in America, one segment will focus on the evolution of racial and ethnic identity in America. To best illustrate how these changes have manifested themselves, we would like to interview several generations from within the same family. The youngest generation should contain multi-ethnic children between the ages of 7 and 17. The oldest generation (the grandparents of those children) should have once been immigrants to this country. We are hoping to speak with families all over the country, however, we are especially looking for families that have several generations within driving distance of one another. If your family matches this profile, we would love to speak with you. We would appreciate your contacting us in the next few days, since this show will air on ABC in mid to late December, and we will be shooting the story in two weeks. Thank you so much for your help. Please feel free to pass my number on to any families or organizations that may be helpful. I can be reached at 212-246-0202, x3009, or emailed at production@globalvision.org. My fax number is 212-246-2677. Best regards, Tania van Bergen Associate Producer
