Can anyone tell me why so many black people misspeak words like ‘troof’ for ‘truth,’ ‘monf’ for ‘month,’ ‘birfday’ for ‘birthday,’ and the like? It seems to be very widespread and makes one sound like an idiot. I don’t get it.
