Murray-C28604ParticipantIf a city white guy dates a Southern-raised sister, will he have all of the Southern-cooked food for the holidays?

Ann L. LowensteinParticipantIf she’s doing all the cooking, you’re going to eat what she knows how to cook. If you don’t like that idea, maybe you should volunteer to do some of the cooking – how’s that sound?

John S.ParticipantIf the black girl likes and knows how to cook, then the white guy might get that sort of food. Although, if anyone wants that kind of food, it’s not difficult to learn how to make it.

teenagerParticipantsure. Most southern sistas have southern cooked foods during the holidays (it’s part of being southern). My family is from the south and there is never an instance where southern food is not present in my home, especially on the holidays.

TamikaParticipantHell yeah! I have never had a holiday with anything but Southern cooking thanks to my grandparents Southern upbringing–and they have been in the city for over 60 years. Couldnt imagine going to a black friends house on the holidays and them serving anything but soul food. Hope that city white guy likes beans, greens, and cornbead!

Rachel28613ParticipantYou would as likely get a Southern cooked meal from a white Southern wife as you would from a black Southern wife. After all, it is the ‘Southern cooked’ food you are after, correct?
