Kelly26563ParticipantIs it true that some actors and actresses get their ‘big break’ by sleeping with executives?

nerol snevetsParticipantIt has been rumored for many years that some people have gone this route. Maybe it was lack of talent or opportunity, insecurity, horniness, or whatever. Also, some who made it to the top have been wrongly accused by those who never made it to the top, as a rational justification. But, don’t stop with the acting profession. The list is endless, where folks have used their, ahem, ‘assets’.

Katrina26727ParticipantI have a friend who’s an actor who tells me he gets a lot of offers to sleep with someone who simultaneously tells him they can do something big for his career, but he said he’s learning to avoid those people because he knows they’re lying.

GeirParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if I learned that some actors, musicians, novelist or whatever got their break in exchange for sexual favours. Personally I don’t see this as any better or worse than favours in other ways with a similar goal as a offer/wish. Like landing a good job, promotions at work etc, generally called licking the backs, sweetwhispering and so on.

Heather WhiteMemberGenerally speaking, if a person offers to give your career a boost if you sleep with them, they have no real hold in the community. However, if a person is really, really attractive, but a poor actor (usually a woman, I’m not going to lie)but has a larger part, other actors will feel angry. It’s obvious that the only reason this person get his/her part is their looks. They look like Sleeping Beauty/Mimi/Danny Zuko/ect, but their acting is subpar. So, out of anger, other actors will say that the less talented actor/actress ‘worked hard on the casting couch’. This is also a way to disrespect directors who are shallow enough to cast looks over talent. We assume if our director is so shallow to cast a pretty yet dumb bimbo, he’s probably ego’ed enough to schlup her too.
