Why do ladies who are over-large (size 18 or more) insist on wearing skin-tight leggings with short t-shirts that show their rolls of fat wobbling as they walk? My mother is a size 18 and is just over 5 feet tall, but she wears trousers that taper to the ankle and blouses that come down to her hips. She often gets told how smart she looks. So, I guess my real question is: Do large women ever look in the mirror at their back view before they leave the house?

Did you ever consider that your sensitivity to larger women may be your problem and not theirs? Maybe they’re comfortable being who they are and don’t consider opinions like yours relevant.

If someone is happy with his or her body, I say let them wear whatever they want. We all come in different shapes and sizes. If you are a size 18, five feet tall and feel comfortable with yourself, then wear something that shows off your body. If you go around trying to make others happy, you will never truly be happy.

Why do women of ANY size insist on wearing skin-tight leggings with short t-shirts in public? It’s not just about size. Maybe it’s about being uhh … ‘hot’! ‘Hot’ women come in all sizes!

I can not speak for all women. I have wondered if other people observing me in the T-Shirt, tight leggings would be curious about my attire. I usually workout in mine; and immediately after leaving the gym and prior to going home to shower I don’t change. There are many times that I stop at stores on the way home to either pick up dinner or essentials. It is a very practical means of dressing for working out…and certainly while I am sweaty, don’t want to put on other clothing. I do this during all seasons.

When I first became fat I hated myself so much that I couldn’t see the point in even trying to look nice. Maybe some of the women you are talking about feel that nothing they wear is going to look good so why bother to wear anything except the most comfortable things.

I don’t hate people for how they look, but when I see some incredibly obese woman wearing a thong on the beach it just makes me wonder if she has any self respect to begin with. I love myself, but I recognise that I have some less desireable traits, so I dont accentuate them. I try to focus on the good parts of me. If your fat, you dont accomplisht his through wearing revealing clothing because after all, its whats inside that matters anyways

As someone who, until recently, was size 18, I can tell you that it is very difficult to get clothes that are stylish and non-huge animal print in that size or above. If you go with plus sizes, everything is large. You can’t have a small waist, small calfs, small arms. With ‘normal’ sizes, you’re then squeezing something in. It seems to be a market yet to be done well. Also, we see all these cool outfits on average-sized women and it’s bothersome to know that 1) you’re not going to find that outfit in your size and 2) if you try to do something comparable, it could be very odd-looking. As someone who has an hourglass figure, I don’t like the idea of wearing sacks, nor do I like everyone seeing every part of my rear end. Further, a lot of the clothes that are ‘suitable’ are more expensive than normal-sized clothing. So, the next time you do see an overweight woman in tight clothing, think about the difficulty she might have in finding clothing that actually fits and she can afford.
