MissyParticipantWhat are the ramifications of having sex while you are having your period?

Leah26120ParticipantAccording to my human sexuality course, not much. If you are being safe, and using condoms, there is no difference between different phases of your cycle. The difference comes when you are not being safe. You have a greater chance of contracting blood-borne illnesses, such as hepatitis A, B and C, and AIDS. I have sex (and even oral sex) during every phase of my cycle and have not had any problems; just use your head.

AnnParticipantRemember to use a condom. Or, if you are uneasy about the mess (or he/she is – some people are) use this as a time to experiment with other kinds of sex play. Lots of women feel super sexy when they get their periods, so have fun and be safe.
