Why is that when educational bonds are proposed, so that more money is provided to local schools elderly people vote against these bonds even though the money provides a better education for students, who are the future of this country.

When I was younger, I wondered the same thing. Many older people do vote in favor of these bonds, but most elderly people are on a fixed income and can’t afford additional taxes. Just Curious

My state has the highest paid teachers in the country, and some of the worst schools and test scores. There comes a point where the system is so broken that simply throwing money at it is pointless. We need a Secretary of Education that is willing to dissect the public schools, weed out the bad teachers, get rid of a lot of the highly paid administrators and start the process over. We also need more students who actually want to learn and parents who care enough to show up at parent/teacher conferences.
